    My car

I am writing this on behalf of my sister who owned one of these (54 reg) What an awful car! The engine is gutless and simply will not rev, overtaking is a terrifying ordeal. The driving position is cramped as is the rest of the cabin. All of the controls are spongy and not nice to use, particularly the gearbox and clutch. The car was plagued by constant reliability issues involving the engine, exhaust, warning lights and electrics. The only positive things I can say are that for a small car the ride was good (although the cabin was so cramped and had suchawful seating positions that every journey was uncomfortable) The interior plastics were reasonably good quality (although not the fit and finish) and it was reasonably well equipped. Running costs would have been low if it werent for all of the reliability issues. Reviews show that Renault appears to have improved their quality slightly although my brother owned a Megane and experienced plenty of reliablility problems with it. I would advise anyone to stay clear of Renault and anyone considering buying a used Clio, avoid it like the plague.

    My car

This most be the most awful car I have ever driven...its not a bad car to drive but its reliablity is truely shocking. I have owned the car only 6 months and had to spend close to a £1000 on it. I bought it 5 years old for £4000 and it only had 28000 miles on the clock. where to start, suspension problems, track road ends going, electrical faults, new ECU, imobiliser problem stoping the car from starting another new part. creeks and rattles, sun roof sounds like its going to fall in at any stage. breaks sticking on after hand brake released. Plus side, its nippy for a 1.2, it drives ok..bad seat position gets sore on long journeys. The fuel economy is amazing i avg out at 48 which isn't bad at all.

however I really would not recomend, I have just managed to sell it for something I hope to be more reliable, but I certainly will never buy another renault to be honest I am staying clear of any car that is french
