Bought my Grandis in March 2010 brand new for £20K. Absolutely love this car. My wife has a Ford S-Max and before hand I had a BMW 320d Touring and needed a bigger car for the family. The Grandis has a lot more room than the S-Max and when we all go out as a family we take the Mitsubishi. The seven seats are very useful as I have three children in child seats and if we go out with parents or in-laws the seven decent seats and boot space are a god send. Trying to get two buggies (one for twins) is very difficult with the seven seats up, but still achievable after a little while jiggling.
A great car, and it is a shame that they are no longer making them because I would definitely think about getting another one.
After test driving 5 other simlar cars including the Smax the choice was very simple. Build quality styling & dealers 1st class. Just bought my second Grandis elegance . Service pack very good value .Both this car & previous Grandis have been faultless. Boot space as 5 or 7 seater excellent.
I bought my Grandis new in Jan 2008.at a price of £20K with 3 yeat service pack .I chose the Grandis after a 24hour test with a 2007 demonstrator. I had tested an S Max and Toyota Verso.I prefered the luggage space in the Grandis with all seats raised plus it was better equiped than the Ford for the £20K.The Verso had possibly a more responsive engine but the middle row seats are too small. The luggage space with rear seats follded is plenty big enough in the Grandis. I have been to Spain twice with the car giving excellent comfort and good visability easy auto route cruising and 600 miles to the tank of diesel.I have used the bed configuration once and found it reasonably comfortable. The engine is a bit noisy when accelerated but never a problem at 80mph cruising. It has just had its 1st service at 12K.I was getting an annoying squeek from the middle row seats when no passengers were seated this was fixed with a bit of grease I expect.I am considering having the engine remapped when the warranty expires as the VW engine does have some turbo lag when moving away from rest. The round town consumption is 36mpg which for a large car is excellent.Cornering in the Pyraneese was faultless with the electronics ensuring that roll is to a minimum. The grandchildren 4&7 love the back seats and dvd.The leather interior easily copes with sticky hands etc.Having previously owned a Renault Scenic with nothing but trouble electrics French cars are a definate non pour moi.
i've had several mpv's as i have 4 kids, aged from 13 to 7 + 1 on the way. this car is great and i love it! its roomy for all my growing brood while not being too big to drive. its sleek design is aerodynamiqe and looks good. i find it very economical and a pleasure to drive. the parking sensors on the back are great for ease of parking. i would throughly recommend this mpv to families large or small!
