For Peugeot’s 3008 offers excellent refinement, a classy interior and plenty of versatility: it’s a fine all-rounder for families.
Against Rear kneeroom is tight and the ride and handling aren’t great unless you get a car with Dynamic Roll Control.
The 3008 is practical, refined and easy to drive. A sumptuous cabin and some excellent engines help make it even more appealing â€\x93 and our 2010 Car of the Year.
The 3008 comes with two 1.6-litre petrol engines (with 118bhp or 148 in the turbocharged THP), and two diesels, the 1.6 HDI and 2.0 HDI. An automatic gearbox is optional with the 2.0 HDI, but for our money the more powerful petrol engine is the pick of the range. Trim levels give high levels of standard equipment, and top-end models have all the luxuries and latest gadgets.
Peugeot dealers are generally happy to haggle, and small discounts or free equipment upgrades should be entirely possible, but don’t expect huge cuts until the 3008 has been on sale for a while. Watch out, too, for low-rate finance schemes and other incentives; as large mainstream retailers, Peugeot dealers have room for manoeuvre.
